Writing Practice: 爱 follows recollections on love through the repeated routine of calligraphy practice. The website invites you, the viewer, into a reenactment of my memory learning to write 爱, love, for the first time in mandarin Chinese. The lost pixels of an archival family picture create the shape of 爱 to be traced by the viewer. As your cursor moves over each pixel, video & sound play as the viewer hovers over each lost pixel – merging into a cacophony.
这是一场通过重复的书法练习，对“爱”的回忆进行追踪的实践。本网站邀请你——观看者——重演我第一次学习书写中文“爱”字的记忆。一张模糊的家庭档案照片中，褪色的像素逐渐勾勒出“爱”的字形，等待你用光标临摹。当你的鼠标掠过每一个消失的像素时，视频与声音随之触发，最终交融成一片喧嚣。
